West Salem students hold school watch parties to support Panthers Football

WEST SALEM (WKBT)- West Salem schools brought in some visual entertainment in the name of school spirit on Friday morning.

Middle school staff brought out the big projector screens and set virtually every TV screen to Bally Sports Wisconsin for students to watch West Salem High School Football’s state title game at Camp Randall Stadium.

Organizers say both the high school and elementary school did the same thing because a special event deserves a special occasion.

This doesn’t happen very often that we get to go to state, so we wanted to make sure that the kids who didn’t get to make the trip with families got to have a chance to watch the game.”

“We’d [normally] be reading right now,” eighth grader Jack Torrance said. “(‘Is this better?’) Way better.”

This game was West Salem’s first trip to State since 2007.

The Panthers took on the undefeated Monroe Cheesemakers but ended up losing the game, 35-14.
