Western Technical College holds first in-person graduation ceremony since 2019

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – More than 1,000 students crossed the stage at today’s commencement ceremony for Western Technical College graduates.

This is the first in-person ceremony since 2019.

Western Tech’s president Roger Stanford says despite the struggles these students faced working through a pandemic, it’s a great time to get their degree and enter the workforce.

“They earned it. I mean, this is not an easy journey whether you’re in a 1-year or a 2-year, these are rigorous programs that lead to great jobs and I personally believe this is the best time in history to graduate from Western Technical College, and what I mean by that is there are more jobs per student than we have ever had in history,” said Stanford.

Students participating are from Fall 2021, Spring 2022, and Summer 2022 semesters.
