Western Technical College opens Veterans Center in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A new Veteran Military Center is now open for area college students.
A ribbon cutting was held Wednesday for the new space at Western Technical College in La Crosse.
The space includes a lounge area, meeting space and student resources.
The new space gives something special to those who have served.
“You can go in there and reflect by yourself if you want to. If you wanted to have a private meeting with another veteran or do your homework back there, it’s very quiet and very peaceful,” said John Stokes, Western Technical College student and military veteran.
Western serves about 1,000 military connected students each year.
