Western Technical College to offer student-run computer help desk
Technology support to be offered to community members.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Western Technical College Computer Support Specialist students will offer a technology support help desk for the community.
The services will be available from March 9 through April 10 over the phone, online, or in person in room 219 of the Business Education Center at 405 8th Street in La Crosse.
The support desk will be available Mondays from 3 – 6 p.m., Thursdays from 3 – 6 p.m., and Fridays from 9 a.m. to noon.
Students will be available to assist with computer software training, hardware support, and general troubleshooting. The service is a part of Western’s community engagement program, which takes credit courses and uses them to address and solve community needs.
“This program is not only helping the students learn, it is also helping the public,” said Cindy Prindle, the instructor for the classes. “It teaches our students how to become leaders in our community.”
Community members may visit the help desk during service hours, but appointments are encouraged. Call 608-785-9900, email studenthelp@westerntc.edu or visit their website here to arrange an appointment. Visitors may park in Western log H or visitor parking spots for free during help desk hours.
