Wheels for All gives athletes with and without disabilities chance to play wheelchair sports

UW-La Crosse sports management students held the Wheel’s for All wheelchair basketball and handball tournaments at Mitchell Hall for athletes with and without disabilities.

Teams played three games each in the first round. They were then put into brackets to decide the champions.

Organizers reached out to The Star Center, who brought a team of 14 athletes with disabilities that played both sports.

“I think offering an inclusive event for people [with and without] disabilities to come together and maximize the potential sports can have . . . benefits community members and everyone that’s able to put on this awesome event,” said Carter Hunter, the operations coordinator for Wheels for All.
