WIAA hires Prairie du Chien’s Mel Dow as associate director
The WIAA is hiring Prairie du Chien alumnus Mel Dow to be its associate director.
Dow is a former three-sport athlete at Prairie du Chien who earned a masters in education from UW-La Crosse in 2002.
He says one of his first jobs will be helping the state turn a specific corner.
“We’re about to embark on a fall season, where last year half the state did a regular fall season and the other half did an alternate fall season,” Dow said. “To rekindle those relationships, program to program, program to officials and so on, there’s some re-bridging to do.”
Dow has been on the WIAA Sports Advisory Council since 2018 and served as AD at Stoughton High since 2010.
In this new position, Dow will oversee planning for baseball, wrestling, and tennis.
