WIAA Level Two Playoffs: Friday Results
In Division 2 Tomah survived a late 4th quarter drive by Antigo to win 21-14.
In the game Dominic Olsen rushed for 135 yards on 18 carries and quarterback Mitch Weiland surpassed the 2,000 yard mark for the season.
Top-seed Tomah takes on 2-seed Menomonie in the WIAA State Quarterfinals.
In Division 3, West Salem led 30-14 in the 3rd quarter but Medford made a nice comeback in the 4th. Kole Hartwig scored a 1-yard TD for Medford to close the deficit to 30-28.
Medford went for 2-pt conversion to tie the game but Jacob Ungerer broke up the pass attempt in the end zone to seal the Panthers win.
West Salem QB Eric Burdick was 11-20 for 228 yards and two touchdowns for West Salem. Tyler Kastenschmidt caught 3 passes for 111 yards and a score.
In a battle of top-five ranked defenses in D-5 Necedah took down Cuba City 13-3.
The undefeated Cardinals opened up the scoring with a 64-yard TD run by Kris Manning in the 2nd quarter. They iced the game with a Gunnar Mach TD run with 36 seconds left in the 4th.
It was an upset in D-7 as 1-seed De Soto was denied their 4th straight trip to the State Quarterfinals, losing 34-8 to Cochrane-Fountain City. The Pirates controlled the entire game and led 21-0 in the second quarter.
