WIAA State Golf Day 1 Recap
Day 1 of the WIAA girls golf state tournament was one full of rain and weather delays, but our local athletes pushed through at University Ridge.
In Division 1, Tomah as a team is in ninth of 12th place after posting a score of +53. Middleton and Westosha Central are tied for first at +30.
Tomah senior Sophie Pokela finished the first round tied for 12th on the individual leaderboard with a +4. Onalaska’s Allison Balduzzi shot a 79 to go +7 and finish Day 1 tied for 20th place.
In Division 2, Arcadia/Independence is in fifth out of sixth place with a team score of +99. Prescott has the team lead at +50. Arcadia Senior Hallie Tulip is in third place with a +9, three strokes behind both Ava Salay of Prescott and Sally Vangsness of St. Croix Central.
The final day of competition begins Tuesday morning.
