Wildlife presentation to be held Wed. night in Onalaska
Public invited to Pierce Park event from 4-8 p.m.
ONALASKA, WI — Families in the La Crosse area have a chance to see and learn more about wild animals during a presentation from the Mutual of Omaha’s Wild Kingdom in Onalaska Wednesday night.
Peter Gros, co-host of Wild Kingdom, will introduce people to his amazing animal friends and talk about what we can do to help protect them.
The public is invited to attend the event in Pierce Park in Aspen Valley in Onalaska from 4-8 p.m. Wednesday. Gros says there will be family-friendly activities, including a wildlife presentation and photo opportunities with the animals.
“We want them to learn to appreciate wildlife, but also sort of distance them from shopping malls and video games and get them back out into the natural world, get exercise and enjoy nature’s beauty,” says Gros.
If you’re going to the wildlife presentation, you’re encouraged to bring a canned food item for WAFER.
Gros brought some of his friends, like African Spotted Leopards, a Monitor Lizard and a raven, to News 8 at Noon on Wednesday. Watch as a raven tries a new trick in the News 8 studio during News 8 at Noon. The raven flies to anchor Martha Koloski, takes a dollar out of her hand and flies back to the handler.
Gros and the animals also visited Northern Hills Elementary School in Onalaska and West Salem Elementary School.
