Window manufacturer to lay off 250

BAYPORT, Minn. (AP) — A Minnesota window manufacturer says it will lay off 250 workers because of a “persistent housing market recession.”

Andersen Corp., of Bayport, says the employees will lose their jobs by the end of the year. The manufacturer says prospects don’t look so great for next year either. The majority of the cuts will involve production workers, although some management positions will be eliminated.

The Star Tribune says Anderson employs about 9,000 workers.
