Winona beats St. Charles to advance in section 1A playoffs

WINONA, Min. (WKBT)–The Winhawks were in control throughout Tuesday night to win the 8-9 seed match up with St. Charles and move on in the section 1A playoffs, winning 4-1.

The Winhawks drew first blood on a goal from Owen Ping, with an assist credited to Mason Mueller.

Winona padded on their 1-0 lead at half with three goals, including one from Rory Biggs, with the assist going to freshman Teis Larsen.

The Winhawks will next take on no. 1 seed Austin Thursday.
