Winona boys basketball falls in first round of Section 1AAA tournament

Winona boys basketball’s season came to an end Tuesday night with a 58-49 home loss to Simley in the first round of the Section 1AAA tournament.

Winona led 25-22 at halftime but Simley outscored Winona 36-24 in the second half to close out the win.

Jackson Nibbelink finished his basketball career with an 18-point night. Austin Mlynczak added 11 points for the Winhawks.

Winona finishes the season with a record of 12-14.
