Winona hosts Music and Movies event, featuring free COVID-19 vaccine clinic

WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — People will be able to catch free live music and a movie, plus get a COVID-19 vaccine, during an event May 29 in Winona.
The city of Winona and Winona County Sheriff’s office will hold a free vaccine clinic during the first Lake Park Drive In Music and Movies Event at 6:30 p.m. May 29.
The event will feature Annie Mack, a Rochester-based soulful singer and songwriter, and a showing of West Side Story on the big screen. People can sign up for a spot at the drive-in event on Eventbrite and check a box to receive the single-dose Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccine. The concert begins at 7 p.m. and the movie starts at 9 p.m.
“This event was a big success with only four showings last year. We are excited to bring back this program with an expanded line up of musicians and movies that will last all summer long,” said Maggie Panetta, Production Director of Treedome.
The ability to partner with local health officials to offer vaccinations at the events is just a natural extension of the desire to service the community and have folks come together safely, Panetta added.
Free tickets can be reserved at online here, or call 507-398-5424 with a name and preferred seating option. The link for this first event is found here.
Masks are required for all non-vehicle seating options. Visit the EventBrite page for a full list of the concert series.
