Winona man found dead in Mississippi River, no foul play

BUFFALO COUNTY, Wis. (WKBT) — Police have identified the man found dead last week in the Mississippi River as 63-year-old David G. Lacher of Winona.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office reported Tuesday that no foul play was suspected.

The sheriff’s office recovered Lacher’s body at about 10:30 a.m. Friday from the river near Aghaming Park in the town of Buffalo, directly across the Mississippi from Winona.

The Buffalo County Sheriff’s Office, Winona Fire Department, Winona Police Department, Winona County Sheriff’s Office and Minnesota Department of Natural Resources worked together to recover Lacher’s body.
