Winona State dedicates Performing Arts Center, honoring former WSU President
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — A former educator is being honored in our area for his contributions to a local university.
Winona State’s Performing Arts Center is officially renamed after Doctor Robert Dufresne, who served as the University’s president from 1967 through 1978
DuFresne’s wife says her late husband loved Winona and Winona State.
“When they took the cloth they took off of that sign, I had a hard time not bursting into tears, because it means a great deal, because he had been here at Winona State for so many years in various capacities,” said Barbara DuFresne, wife of former Winona State University President Robert DuFresne.
DuFresne is the 8th former president honored with a building dedication at Winona State.
