Winona State enters final phase of pedestrian tunnel project
The project is expected to be completed November 2016
WINONA, Minn. (WKBT) — Train traffic in Winona will soon no longer be a problem for pedestrians looking to cross near Winona and Johnson Streets.
Winona State University awarded the construction bid for the final phase of their pedestrian tunnel project in November and construction will begin in spring 2016.
Lost Silver parking spaces will be temporarily replaced by new parking off of Winona Street across from the baseball field on property recently acquired by the unversity.
Demolition of the existing houses and construction of the temporary parking lot will be completed this month.
The project is expected to be completed in November 2016.
