Winona woman identified in weekend fatal fire
WINONA, Min. (WKBT) — The Winona Fire Department was called to the fire shortly after 2:00 a.m. Sunday morning.
The one story house, about two blocks east of Winona State campus, was fully enflamed when crews arrived.
Fire fighters did a search of the house and found the body of a woman.
Jean Ann Jacob, 68, died at the scene, 60 East 10th Street. Final autopsy results are pending. Officials said there is nothing of suspicious nature at this time.
A 22-year-old man was also in the home and was woke by people pounding on the house yelling “fire”. The man escaped uninjured.
