Winter Rec-Fest canceled for 2020 in La Crosse
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A winter tradition in La Crosse will take a year off.
Winter Rec-Fest will not be held in 2020.
2019 was the 33rd year of the event.
In recent years, some event have been canceled due to seasonably warm temperatures.
The annual tradition has included outdoor recreation activities like broom ball, along with card tournaments.
Organizers say while Winter Rec-Fest is off for this year, they are already looking to the future.
“We definitely tossed around maybe moving the date and just any new outdoor events or indoor events that we can include,” said Abby Heilman, La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry Special Events Coordinator.
The Tri-State Toe Picks Figure Skating and La Crosse Curling Clubs will still be holding events that have in the past been a part of Winter Rec-Fest.
