Wis. home sales holding steady
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Wisconsin’s housing prices climbed slightly in September as the level of home sales remained about the same compared to a year ago.
The latest figures from the Wisconsin Realtors Association show housing prices rose about 3 percent. The median price of a home rose from about $144,000 to nearly $149,000.
Association president Michael Theo tells the Journal Sentinel Wisconsin is in a bit of a holding pattern in terms of existing home sales, much like the rest of the country, but median home prices have grown at a healthy pace.
The housing market was among the hardest hit sectors of the economy when the 2008-2009 recession hit, so economists pay close attention to its recovery.
