Wisconsin authorities find Minn. man’s body in river
PRESCOTT, Wis. (AP) — Wisconsin authorities have recovered the body of the Minnesota man who disappeared after falling into the St. Croix River near Prescott earlier this week.
The Pierce County sheriff’s department says someone reported seeing a body in the river Friday evening.
Deputies responded and located the body. It was identified as that of 65-year-old Merriett M. Maul Jr. of Welch, Minn.
Maul was docking his boat with his wife and friends Tuesday evening when he fell between the boat and the dock. Divers using sonar equipment weren’t able to locate him.
Authorities don’t suspect foul play in his death.
