Wisconsin democrats highlight priorities in state legislature
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Democrats from the Wisconsin legislature are highlighting their priorities ahead of the fall floor period.
State Senator Jennifer Shilling, along with Representatives Jill Billings and Steve Doyle laid out their priorities at La Crosse’s City Hall.
Health care affordability, supporting public schools and financial security were all highlighted.
Local lawmakers hope that discussions will lead to action.
“I think that the really day to day work that’s happening is pretty good, the thing is we need to feed that and make sure that those bills pass through committee and then get hearings on the floor and a vote on the floor,” said Jill Billings, Wisconsin State representative.
The Wisconsin legislature is schedule to meet from October 8th to 10th and again from November 5th to 14th.
