Wisconsin Department of Revenue urging parents to sign up for Child Tax Rebate

Wisconsin parents have less than 2 weeks left to sign up for the child tax rebate, and only about half of expected applications have been submitted.

Of the estimated 670,000 households eligible for the rebate, about half have applied so far. Wisconsin’s Department of Revenue is urging parents to sing up early, rather than waiting until the last minute.

“Typically we see a pattern where a lot of people apply right at the start, then there’s a lull, then a lot of people apply right at the end. So, we’re nearing the end, July 2 is the deadline. We just want to make sure people don’t forget about it and miss their chance to apply,” said Wisconsin Department of Reven ue Secretary Rick Chandler.

Any legal Wisconsin guardian with a child who was below the age of 18 all of 2017 can apply for the $100 per child tax rebate. The deadline to apply is Monday, July 2. You can apply through the Department of Revenue’s website, or by calling (608) 266-KIDS.
