Wisconsin DHS secretary-designee supports proposed state budget during visit to La Crosse
Budget subject to Legislature's approval
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Wisconsin’s Department of Health Services secretary-designee is urging state lawmakers to pass the governor’s proposed budget..
Karen Timberlake spoke with members of La Crosse’s Alliance to Heal about how governor’s budget proposal will improve mental health and substance abuse services.
Timberlake says Wisconsin needs to expand Medicare.
“That’s money that can be invested in health care, in addiction treatment, in housing support. It can be invested across all of the challenges we heard about today,” she said.
Evers’ budget is subject to the approval of the Republican-controlled Legislature.
