Wisconsin DNR looking for beetle farmers

Wisconsin wildlife officials need beetle farmers to help fight an invasive plant.

The Department of Natural Resources is looking for anyone who might be willing to raise beetles that eat purple loosestrife.

Agency officials say they’ll offer free equipment and starter beetles to anyone who’s interested. They say the beetles are safe and target only purple loosestrife.

Prospective beetle farmers can learn more about the program on the DNR’s website.
