Wisconsin mom arrested after death of 2-month-old son

VERONA, Wis. (AP) — A Verona woman whose 2-month-old son died in August has been arrested on suspicion of reckless homicide.

The 28-year-old was arrested Tuesday.

A Wisconsin State Journal report says officers responded to an Aug. 24 call of an infant who wasn’t breathing.

A report by the Department of Children and Families that month says a 2-month-old boy had been taken to an emergency room and placed on life support. The report says every bone in the child’s skull was fractured, and his abdomen had massive bruising.

The report says the mother’s explanation that she tripped and fell on the baby wasn’t consistent with the extent of his injuries.

The medical examiner’s office identifies the boy as Gabriel Dale Olson. It says his death has been ruled a homicide.
