Wisconsin organizations help people register to vote for National Voter Registration Day
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — Voters across the country are being urged to prepare for the 2018 elections.
Tuesday was National Voter Registration Day, and the local branch of the League of Women Voters helped people register. The League joined thousands of other organizations across Wisconsin helping people register in observance of the national day.
Along with voter registration, the League also explained what people will need to keep in mind as they head to the polls, such as Wisconsin’s voter ID law.
While you can register the same day you vote, League directors recommend you do it early.
“Especially if there might be some glitch in terms of what you think you’re providing for proper information and you didn’t really have the right information,” said League of Women Voters of the La Crosse Area Director of Voter Services Peter Nelson.
Wisconsin voters can register online at MyVote.WI.gov.
