Wisconsin sees one-day record in new COVID-19 deaths

Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 128 new deaths Saturday, two of them in La Crosse County

(WKBT) – Wisconsin set a one-day record for COVID-19 deaths on Saturday.

The Wisconsin Department of Health Services reported 128 deaths, bringing the total number of deaths to 5,450. Two of those deaths are La Crosse County residents. The COVID-19 death toll in the county now stands at 67.

Another 1,937 people tested positive out of more than 7,000 tests, including 45 in La Crosse County. 520,188 people in total have tested positive for the virus in Wisconsin. 11,005 of those people are La Crosse County residents.

One hundred and three people were reported hospitalized.

About 94 percent of all cases in the state have recovered.
