Wisconsin State Senate candidate looking to primary
Swiggum is one of three in democratic primary
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – A Gays Mills woman is laying out her reasons for running for Wisconsin State Senate.
Jayne Swiggum is running as a Democrat for the 32nd District seat that Jennifer Shilling had held since 2011.
Swiggum is facing Brad Pfaff and Paul Weber in the primary election next month.
Swiggum is a nurse and says the experience is a strength.
“We have to fix things. As a nurse, I’m always trying to help people. You have a problem, I’m going to help you to address it, to fix it until we get to a reasonable solution,” Swiggum said.
Former State Sen. Dan Kapanke, who held the seat until 2011 is the lone Republican challenger on the ballot.
The primary election is Aug. 11.
