Wisconsin State Superintendent candidate Troy Gunderson talks about in-person education in La Crosse
Gunderson is one of seven candidates seeking the state superintendent position
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – As schools in Wisconsin continue to reopen, state superintendent candidate Troy Gunderson discussed the challenges for districts across the state.
Gunderson campaigned outside La Crosse’s North Woods Elementary Wednesday, less than one month ahead of the Feburary primary.
The former West Salem and G-E-T superintendent says learning in-person will help the learning process.
“Children need to congregate to make this happen. Independent learning at home can be done for a while, but kids need the socialization of being around other people. And we have to figure out a way to be able to conduct that from a safe manner,” said Troy Gunderson, Wisconsin State Superintendent candidate.
Gunderson is one of seven candidates to enter the race.
