What you should do if you see a wolf
If you come across one of these large canines while roaming the woods, just stay calm and you should be alright

LA CROSSE, Wis (WKBT) – The Wisconsin DNR is in a battle with GOP legislatures on when to resume Wolf season, many people would be awe-struck to see one in real life.
Today, the Mississippi Valley Conservancy held an online presentation about the wolves in Wisconsin’s Central Forest Region and specifically the Gray Wolf.
The DNR has been monitoring wolves in central Wisconsin since the wolves began recolonizing the region in the mid-1990s.
If you come across one of these large canines while roaming the woods, just stay calm and you should be alright.
“Like with any animal, you wanna stop, certainly look at it because that’d be a heck of a sight,” wolf biologist Dick Thiel said. “Typically what’s going to happen is the animal’s gonna slide past you, it’s going to go around you or reverse course. And then consider yourself fortunate to have such an experience.”
If you see a wolf and have any concerns, contact the DNR right away.
