Woman flips off sheriff on Wisconsin interstate
MILWAUKEE (AP) — A 49-year-old woman flipped off the wrong person on a Milwaukee County interstate: the sheriff.
Department spokeswoman Fran McLaughlin says she and Sheriff David Clarke were in an unmarked sport utility vehicle with tinted windows late Thursday morning. They were in a lane that allows drivers to turn left or go straight, and the woman was in a left turn lane.
McLaughlin says the woman thought she could go straight and tried to get around them but couldn’t, then sped past with her hand out her window.
Clarke stopped her and she apologized, saying if she had known it was him, she wouldn’t have done it.
She received citations for operating with a suspended license and reckless driving. She was arrested on a warrant for operating with a suspended license.
