Woman, toddler hurt when car rams train in Iowa
MANLY, Iowa (AP) — A woman and a toddler were injured when their car rammed into a train at a crossing in northern Iowa.
The accident occurred a little after 3:30 p.m. Sunday on Iowa Highway 9 about 2½ miles east of Manly. Authorities say the car didn’t stop at a red light and ran into the train.
The woman and toddler were taken to Mercy Medical Center-North Iowa in Mason City with injures that were not believed to be life-threatening.
Their names haven’t been released.
