Women’s Fund hosts annual luncheon, speaker to empower women
Organization has raised more than $300,000 since it began
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A fundraiser for local non-profits takes time to empower women.
The Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse hosted its annual luncheon at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse Thursday. The group is a private, non-profit organization.
Its mission is to enrich the lives of women and girls so they can do the same for others.
This afternoon dozens of women enjoyed food while listening to a guest speaker on the topic of ‘The Power of Knowing your Story.’
“The story today is the power of knowing your own story. And she’s teaching the audience just what encourages them to go out and tell their story of their life and to make them feel good about the choices they’ve made,” said Women’s Fund of Greater La Crosse Executive Director Mary Behrens.
The luncheon is the largest fundraiser for the Women’s Fund.
Since its inception the fund has donated nearly $300,000 to local programs and agencies whose missions support women.
