Wonewoc-Center/Weston uniting communities through football

A lot of top moments during News 8 Now Highlight Zones involve the usual suspects–QB, running back, receiver.

But the 8-man co-op team in Wonewoc-Center/Weston is proving that everyone on the team has a role and can shine at any moment.

Case in point is 15-year-old lineman Carter Stout coming up with the interception against North Crawford and running it back the other way for a score (eventually negated by a late flag).

Community members say the culture of this co-op team is a great one. Normally rivals, the two towns are now in their fifth year coming together to play football, and the first as 8-man.

Even though they’re rivals in other sports, they’re doing everything they can to keep football a yearly tradition in their communities.
