Workers at two Wisconsin Starbucks locations vote to unionize

MILWAUKEE, Wis. (WKBT) – Employees at two Wisconsin Starbucks locations voted to unionize Friday, according to the Wisconsin AFL-CIO.

Union organizers at Starbucks’ Howell Avenue in Oak Creek and McGill Crossroads in Plover won their elections Friday, the first in the state to do so. These follow a recent wave of union organizing efforts in the U.S.

“These brave workers have claimed their seat at the table at one of the most powerful companies in the world and are inspiring other workers to take action and join the labor movement,” Wisconsin AFL-CIO President Stephanie Bloomingdale said.

Workers at the two locations voted for Workers United International Union to represent them.
