World-traveling KSTP-TV reporter Davis to retire

World-traveling KSTP-TV reporter Jason Davis plans to retire next year.

The host of the popular show “On the Road” has spent nearly 40 years with the Twin Cities station. Davis has led news crews to more than 35 countries, airing stories about the characters they meet along the way.

Asked about his decision to retire, Davis tells KSTP “It’s time.”

Davis says there are “only so many stories out there,” and he’s found it more difficult each week to find stories that are “interesting and new” to him.

During his 45-year career, Davis has been inducted into the Minnesota Museum of Broadcasting Hall of Fame as well as the NATAS Silver Circle, awarded by the National Television Academy.

His last day at KSTP will be May 30.
