WTC breaks ground on Horticulture Education Center
Building will provide hand-on experience, fresh ingredients
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — A new building will be sprouting up near downtown La Crosse.
Western Technical College broke ground on its new Horticulture Education Center.
The $3.4 million project is a joint effort with Mayo Clinic Health System, Hillview Urban Agriculture Center, and The La Crosse Community Foundation.
The building will provide hands-on experience for horticulture students and fresh ingredients for the culinary arts program.
“There’s a limit to what we can do if all we’re doing are things in a narrow program area, so together we’re able to accomplish something we just couldn’t do on our own,” said Western Technical College President Lee Rasch.
Construction should be complete by fall of next year.
