Xcel Energy-Wisconsin launches new electric vehicle charging program for business customers

EAU CLAIRE, Wis. (WKBT) – Xcel Energy announced Wednesday the utility company is launching a new electric vehicle charging program that will lower the costs to install EV charging equipment for Wisconsin business customers.

Business and community customers can either buy the equipment from Xcel Energy itself, or acquire their own.

Xcel Energy’s goal is to limit 80 percent of carbon emissions by 2030 and to supply carbon-free electricity by 2050.

“Electric vehicles are a great opportunity for our business customers to save money on transportation costs,” Xcel Energy-Wisconsin president Mark Stoerling said in a press release. “Moving forward on EV programs not only benefits the EV owners, but everyone by reducing carbon emissions and air pollution.”
