“You already trust them,” La Crosse area doctor encourages patients to discuss COVID-19 during scheduled visits
Gundersen Health System now has the vaccine available during scheduled appointments at the Onalaska clinic.
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – The vaccination rate in the U.S. is now at the highest level since late June.
But health officials here in La Crosse are concerned that as kids return to school, the virus will have a chance to spread among unvaccinated kids.
Gundersen Health System now has the vaccine available during scheduled appointments at the Onalaska clinic.
That access could help boost vaccination rates.
“I think this is the best opportunity because you already know that provider. You already trust them. You can have that good conversation with them about the the risks and benefit of vaccination versus infection,” said Gundersen Health System pediatrician Dr. Anna Jackson.
Vaccination access during regular appointments will be added to other locations soon.
