Youth Outdoor Fest in La Crosse lets kids learn about recreation opportunites

25 different groups took part.

LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) – Local kids are learning how much fun they can have outside.

La Crosse Parks and Recreation Department held its 12th annual Youth Outdoor Fest Saturday in Pettibone Park.

During the event, kids could try archery, fishing and kayaking.

While the fest is only one day, organizers say it can have an impact that lasts much longer.

“This is just giving youth opportunities to maybe have a dream someday in what they want to do in their futures,” said La Crosse Parks, Recreation and Forestry special events coordinator Hunter Elsen.

The event was last held in 2019.
