Youth sports camp held at UW-La Crosse over holiday break
LA CROSSE, Wis. (WKBT) — UW-La Crosse is helping all students stay active over the holiday break with a Youth Sports and Fitness Camp.
Kids from 5 to 14 years old enjoyed many different sports, including the classics like football and basketball, along with a few outsiders like pickleball and fitness drumming!
Physical Education majors on the campus serve as the camp counselors.
“I just love working with all the kids and seeing how much joy it actually brings to them. A lot of times they aren’t able to do stuff like this. It’s a lot of video games around Christmas time. Just being active and having fun with it, it really makes it worth it for me,” said counselor Zach Falk.
The money raised during the Winter Youth Sports and Fitness Camp helps fund various opportunities for the Physical Education students.
