‘Zero footprint’ car dealership opens in Viroqua

VIROQUA, Wis. (WKBT) – A grand opening celebration was held at Viroqua’s first “zero footprint” car dealership.

The Sleepy Hollow Ford location is 100% solar-powered.

“I think sustainability is just going to have to be a practice that we all do in the future, that’s the way it’s going to be,” said owner Lavon Felton.

There’s a charging canopy in the middle of the parking lot for electric vehicles, one of the first of its kind in the midwest.

“My goal is to be zero footprint on this thing,” said Felton. “To be honest, my goal is not to get a light bill at the end of the month, so that’s what I’d like to see happen, I think we can achieve that, we’re well on our way to doing that.”

This building is also the first in Viroqua’s new business park.
